Found this forum 9 days ago. I have barely slept. I have been down the rabbit hole across every board. It feels like I finally found where the real conversation is happening but I also feel like my feet have been pulled out from under me. Do I start documenting? Do I read more first? Is there a beginner's path? I don't want to be the person who posts stupid questions, but I also don't want to freeze up and waste a year lurking. What did you all do in your first month here.

develop ONE area of expertise before you try to cover everything. you cannot read all 5 boards at depth. pick atmospheric OR npc OR signal. become the person who knows that board.

I joined in 2022. My first month I posted three times and each one got gently corrected. I was embarrassed. Looking back: those corrections were how I learned. Post imperfectly. We'll help you sharpen it.

Thank you all. I'm taking OakesObserves' advice. Logging off until Sunday. Bought a notebook. It has a pigeon on the cover. I don't know why that matters but it feels right.
