Our roomba has run the same path for 2.5 years. Last Tuesday it stopped in the middle of the living room, rotated 180 degrees, and faced our houseguest for 47 seconds. Then resumed normal pattern. Houseguest didn't notice. I did. She's my husband's cousin. I've been uncomfortable around her for years and couldn't say why. The roomba could.

roombas have IR and basic edge detection. something about her reflectivity tripped the edge sensor. that's not nothing. trust the roomba.

Wait wait wait. 47 seconds is SPECIFIC. If you have the roomba app it should log the stoppage. Pull the timestamp and the duration.
@FaulkOnTheFence app confirms. 47.3 seconds. I'm not making this up.

Dogs, cats, roombas, infants, and parrots. The five witnesses that can't be socially trained out of their reactions. Make a log.

Cousin is leaving tomorrow. I'll report whether the roomba returns to normal pattern by Thursday.
