The Reptilian-Detector Flashlight
405 nm output. Reveals the secondary eyelid in controlled low-light conditions.
$89.00
A handheld UV-adjacent flashlight tuned to 405 nm, the wavelength at which the nictitating membrane of a concealed reptilian subject refracts visibly against the surrounding sclera. In practice, you sweep the light across a subject's upper face at reading distance for no more than one second.
This is not a toy. Extended direct exposure to the eye is uncomfortable for human subjects and will flag you socially. Use responsibly — we recommend daylight conditions with indirect sweeps, not nightclub confrontations.
Two-hour runtime on a single charge. USB-C. Ships with a spare battery and a short guide to interpreting the three common refraction patterns.
